SEASON 2: 5-7 Yr Old INDOOR Winter Baseball League

  • Co-ed: all players are welcome
  • Friend/Player requests are available in registration form 
  • Equipment provided will include: Bats, Balls, Uniforms                                                               
    • All other equipment should be brought by players  

        

      

Rules/Competition

• Teams will field 7 players per inning.
• An inning is to 3 outs or until everyone bats
• Age Division:  5 to 7 year olds.
• League will be using Soft Core TeeBalls.
• Scores, Records, and Standings will not be recorded. This will be a league with the sole intention of teaching the game to younger players.
• Games are 5 innings with a 1hr time limit                           

Who can play? Players of all skill levels welcome. This is a very inclusive and fun-focused league!

When are games?  Winter Season 1 starts on November 5th and ends December 17th.  Season 2 January 7th to February 11th.

Where are games?  All games will be played at Steelyard Sports 538 Swedeland Road in Conshy/KOP, indoors in the Arena. 

How do the games work?  Players bat from a pitched ball by the coach.  Every batter gets a hit, and advances to first base.  Tee will be used if player is having trouble hitting coach pitch. Innings change after all players on each team bat once.  Fielders throw hit balls to first base, and rotate field positions every inning so everyone has a chance to play all positions.  Games will run to about 1 hour.  No score is kept (although we know the kids do!).

What do we need to bring each Saturday?  Players should bring: (1) a baseball glove, (2) water bottle, (3) team jersey issued by the league, and (4) batting helemt. The team jersey is distributed at the first team meeting.  Players should wear clothes for running.  Players should wear sneakers or rubber cleats (optional); no Crocs or sandals.  Bats and helmets can be supplied, but also players are encouraged (but not required at all) to bring their own.

What about drop offs?  At this age group, each player must have a parent (or other responsible adult, e.g., neighbor, grandparent, nanny, etc.) present for the duration of the game.

When will I learn what team my player will be on?  Parents will be contacted (via email) by Steelyard staff or the player’s head coach around the New Year, who will provide schedule, team players and team name, and additional logistical information.  Please be sure we have your preferred email address when you register online.
